the  cow gave the little red bird a cup of banana flower one of those big red  flower just like a heart she held the  flower over  the milk  and a little of the red juice dropped into the milk and  made the milk look like blood then they waited for the lioness

very soon they heard the noise coming throught  the trees the noise of the lioness coming after the cow and then lioness come out from the trees the little  red bird flew  quickly  and  stood

on the lioness  head and began to peck at her eyes this hurt the lioness and made her  very angry she threw up her head roared and cried  dont  do that you re hurting me  the little red bird held on to her head and went on pecking at her eyes  the lioness said stop you re making me blind i cant se

                                   

                      the little red bird laughed and said if you can t see perhaps you can feel your blood pouring down and the little bird poured the red milk over the lioness looked as well as she could and  she saw something red dropping down from her head she was afraid then the little bird took the red banana flower and threw it in the road in front of the lioness look lioness she cried ive picked out,

 your heart its there in the road the lioness looked as well as the could and there in the road she saw what she thought was her heart she didnt wait another minute she turned round and ran back in to the forest as fast as her legs could carry her since that day the cow has always lived in the village and the little red bird is called the friend of the cow she often  sleeps in the cow house and when the cows  are milked she always gets a little milk for herself because she helped the cow and her child when they needed a true friend
